Fear Factor Exercise

Taking action always requires crossing the threshold from the known to the unknown. That means taking some risk and pushing through some fears we have. If we are not feeling some fear in executing our plan, then we are not breaking new ground and moving forward. Some fear always comes with new territory -- whether it's fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of success or some other fear we may have. The good news is that fears exist only in our mind -- and we can overcome them.

What fears do you have about taking action in this plan? What's the worst thing that can happen? What is the real probability that this will happen? What is the smallest thing you can do or change to overcome this fear? Just writing down our fears and acknowledging that being afraid is a "good sign" can be enough to overcome them. Talking to a peer, mentor or coach can also help. Please tell us about any fears you are feeling by filling out the form below and adding the information to your plan. You can also revisit this exercise anytime.
